If you’re a fan of fairy tales, then you may want to head over to your favourite Rival Gaming Casino to try out the new Candy Cottage video slot which is themed on the popular story of Hansel and Gretel who found a wicked witch living in a house made of candy while out walking in the woods.

This story is brought vividly to life in a five-reel, twenty payline video slot which utilises bright colours and sharp vector graphics excellently. Hansel and Gretal both appear as symbols on the reels (along side chocolates, Candy, Jelly Beans and an assortment of other delicious treats), but it’s the Wicked Witch that you’ll need to be spinning if you want to access the large fixed jackpots.

As you would expect from Rival slots, the game also includes an expanding Wild symbol (represented by the Furnace), a number of free spins (won by spinning at least three Candy Cottage symbols) and an excellent bonus round which becomes accessible when the player spins at least three cage symbols.

Bonus Game

At this point, the main video slot is replaced with a second screen with features the main story of Hansel and Gretal: the witch trying to fatten up the two kids so that she can eat them. In the bonus game, the witch throws a handful of chocolate and candy and it’s up to Hansel to try and catch as many of them in his mouth as possible.

To do this, the player must move Hansel horizontally across the screen so that he is under each of the sweets as they fall to the ground. Succesfully doing this will reward the player with an excellent animation of the young, sucking and chewing on as many goodies as he can fit into his mouth.

The bonus game ends with a rather full looking Hansel lying on the floor (possibly thinking about how he might have spoiled himself!) while the Wicked Witch happily leans over him. At this point, the number of candies that you have managed to catch are converted into bonus points and awarded to you, the player.

All in all, the game looks and plays excellently. While the bonus round is the slot’s crowning feature, the standard slot interface is also real fun to use with the highlight being the animations which are attached to the game’s various symbols: hunks of chocolate get eaten and gradually disappear, jelly beans jump up and down and should you spin three Furnaces (to trigger the expanding Wild Symbol) you’ll be rewarded with a fantastic animation of a fire that spurts from a crooked chimney and goes on to cover all thre rows.

Wagering

Players can wager up to 10 coins on every payline or up to 200 coins per spin. Coin size ranges from $0.01 to $0.25 meaning that this is a game for players of all bankrolls. When playing at the highest levels, a payout of 2,500 coins can be achieved which converts to $6,250 upon withdrawal.

The Candy Cottage video slot is now live in all Rival Casinos. However, we would suggest playing tha game at either Ruby Royal or Rockbet Casino as they both have very good reputations in the industry, excellent customer support and a strong welcome bonus for players registering for the first time.
